My clients commissioned me in 2004 to design and landscape their entire garden in Knockholt, Kent. They had recently bought a neglected two acre plot at the top of a hill and were about to build a stunning Georgian style house set overlooking the magnificent views. Their brief was to create a design for the whole garden which would link both with the formal elements of the architecture of the house and with the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. They particularly wanted to include large double herbaceous borders, a naturalistic pond, a kitchen garden and a herb garden. They were both very knowledgeable about plants and were very excited about the possibilities of the design and planting.
This was the most perfect project for me and I thoroughly enjoyed working on the garden from the initial concepts and ideas through to the final plans and specifications, overseeing the construction, and finally working with all the family on the actual planting.
