My clients had recently moved to this stunning house which was set in lovely countryside but had a very tired garden mainly laid to lawn.
Their brief was to create a beautiful garden which they could leave for future generations and we agreed to use a more formal structured style around the house which then slowly changed to an informal organic style which would blend with the fields and farmland beyond.
This was a super project for me and we moved on to include old York stone paving with an oak pergola and scented planting by the back of the house, a herb garden with Dutch pavers and 4 raised beds for planting with an old milestone and peg tile central feature, a secluded circular garden with small table and chairs wrapped with planting to catch the evening light, a 30m long set of double borders with structural planting and swathes of perennials flanked with multi stem Crab Apple trees, and finally various new specimen trees, spring bulbs and swathes of wild grass areas further from the house to link with the countryside.
